Adult Pumpkin Pie?

Yes friends, this recipe for adult pumpkin pie is really meant for the adults because it has brandy in it and you wouldn't want to give it to or waste any of it on the kiddies!  And what makes it even more decadent is that there's whipping cream in it too!  And if that's not enough, there's a recipe below for brandy hard sauce to go with it!  Just think of it...Mmmmm!

Try this recipe the next time your planning on baking those typical pumpkin pies you usually do!
A good friend of mine was the one who introduced me to this recipe and all I can say is that she has given it her special mark of approval which means it's a number one recipe in her book, and mine too!  Thanks T!

Recipe follows....


1 unbaked 9" pastry shell
Preheat oven to 350'

Mix together in a large bowl:
4 Eggs
2 cups pumpkin puree

Combine and add to the puree mix:
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. white sugar
1 tsp. ground ginger
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. salt
1 T. flour
1 1/2 c. heavy cream
1/4 c. brandy

Bake 1 hour and 10 minutes or until entire filling has puffed and cake tester inserted comes out clean.
Transfer to a wire rack to cool.   

Optional:   Decorate with Hard Sauce rosettes.

Brandy Hard Sauce:
1/4 lb. butter, room temperature
3/4 c. powdered sugar
Brandy to taste

Cream to desired taste and consistency.  Add brandy.  Place in a pastry bag and form rosettes on waxed paper lined cookie sheet or plate.  Refrigerate at least 4 hours before using.
